Felicidades Siempre

Hi crafty friends!

My cousin, Max, turned 40 this week.  His wife, Becky, and I have been working on a surprise party for him.  Unfortunately, I was not able to attend because I have been battling a cold...and all the work from setting up under the rain kind of did me in.  Anyhow, I made this card for Max.  I used a card I saw in a magazine as a guide.  I'm sorry I can't remember which magazine.  It was probably Papercrafting or Scrapbooks etc.

  1. I used Sahara Sand from Stampin Up as my card base.
  2. The first layer is Certainly Celery and so is the green star.
  3. The patterned paper is from JoAnn's, but I don't know the manufacturer.
  4. Light blue paper is Bashful Blue from SU
  5. White layer is Georgia Pacific cardstock.
  6. Blue striped card is Stampin Up DSP
  7. Sentiment is in Lucky Limeaid from SU and the stamp is SU "Felicidades Siempre" set.  It means Happiness Always.
  8. I used Stampin Up chalk to ink the edges for some texture.  The dark blue paper is Brocade Blue.

Simple Birthday Wish!

I have a dear friend.  She is a very special lady to my family.  Her name is Lynnette Allen.  She's the school nurse and was also the 3K teacher for my nephew Josh (20), my niece Lizzie (11) and my two kids (5 and 6)  So...she's been special to us forever.  Lynnette will celebrate a birthday in a couple of days.  I made her a special card to tell her how special she is.

This card was mostly used with Stampin Up! products.  I used Pear Pizzaz for the base at the normal A2 size.  The flower layer is cut at 4 1/8 x 5 3/8.  The square is 3 x 3 in chocolate chip (my favorite color) and the two inner squares are 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 and 2 1/4 x 2 1/4.  The sentiment color is Brocade Blue and from a Stampin Up sayings set.  I think it is simple, but pretty.  I sure hope Mrs. Allen loves it as much as I love her.

Friday Birthdays

Good Morning everyone! Yesterday was a special day for me.  It's my birthday.  My uncle, Ralph, and I share this day, which is very cool to me.  Last week I thought I'd take a moment to make him a little card. I used scraps and a little dog that I had already cut from Create a Critter a while back.  I had a top note that I bought on ebay in a bundle and thought it looked cute.  This card literally took me like five minutes to make, if that. I hope he likes it.  Hmm...should I make myself a card?  (My daughter (6) wants to make one...we'll see).

Have a great day!!
For some reason, I cannot flip flip this card.  Sorry.
