Happy Mother's Day

Good morning!  Happy Mother's Day!!!  I hope you all have a wonderful day with your families.  I have been delayed in posting, but did want to share a couple of cards that I made for Mother's Day.  I still have three or four more to make, but I think we are going to have to do them in mass production.  I am a little worn out.  It's been a hectic few weeks.

This cut is from Country Life.  I found it in my cut stash and totally loved it.  The embossing folder is Textiles.  

My sis is going on a cruise in two weeks.  I made her a card to go with her gift.    This is from Life's a Beach

Santa

Good morning, friends!

This has been a very exhausting week...and I'm not even sure why.  I have not had much crafting time.  I did, however, make this little card last week.  I totally scraplifted it from Cindy Lawrence.  I have really loved finding her blog. She is amazing!

This is just a little practice one that I made.  I had to use a Tupperware bowl as a guide for the round edges of the trim, the beard and mustache.  I also hand cut the eyes and nose.  Needless to say, I purchased an oval punch this weekend.  I will likely make more of these because my little sample came out adorable (minus the obvious adhesive and so on) and I think they would be neat for the kids to hand out at Christmas, don't you?  I need to search for a Cricut cut for the holly leaves...these were also hand cut, as you can probably tell.  Well, like I've said before, I promised myself I would post whatever I make, so here's my Santa!

Post It Noteholders

Happy Sunday!

Today I made three very easy Post It noteholders.  I'll be giving two of them as gifts to my sister and my best friend/cousin.  I've been gone for a week and was not able to buy them any souvenirs, so I decided to make them these little post it holders.  I learned how to make them from Kerry.  I visit her blog often because she is amazing.  I didn't have chipboard, so I used my cuttlebug to cut some flowers and a ribbon.  Enjoy!

Independence Day Thank You!

Two posts in one day.  Yikes!

Today, we went to my friend's house for some fun in the South Florida sun. She is always very kind and gracious with my family.  She bought the kids a ton of pool toys and water games and they went all out with burgers, hotdogs and a yummy red velvet cheesecake.

I wanted to thank her formally for a great day, so I created this card.  The stars are from Plantin Schoolbook.  The small ones are cut at 2" and the large one at 3".  I put the red layer through the cuttlebug Thank You folder.  I wanted to add ribbon, but not a bow, so I used red, white and blue 1/8" satin ribbon to form a diagonal streak...kind of like a shooting star. It actually reminded me of the Olympics!  I wish the photos were clearer. The starts are glittery.  This card turned out very cute.  I hope she likes it.  Oh!  The overall card is 5 1/4 x 5 1/4.  Each layer is cut at 1/8" intervals.   Also, I put a white piece inside for writing.  I hope you like!

Thank You

Happy Father's Day everyone.  I admit my father's day was very laid back.  I did nothing.  I did not feel much like celebrating.  This is the first year without my father, who passed away on September 3rd.  I just could not bring myself to celebrate today.  Maybe next year.  We made breakfast in bed for my husband and just spent the day together.

I don't know if you've ever heard of FreeCycle.  It's a yahoo group for people to trade items that would be thrown out.  I have had the opportunity to bless people with things that my family won't use anymore (clothing, decorations, etc.) and have been blessed by people who are giving away great items that I can totally use.  Tonight, a woman was giving away some new Bakugan toys.  I jumped at it because Bryan's birthday is next week.  Unfortunately, someone else had spoken for them.  Well...about an hour later, she emailed me and said, "I decided to save the Bakugans for Bryan since I know you guys are struggling!"  What a nice gesture.  By the time I got to her house, she had found a brand new Hot Wheels set for me as well.  I am so fortunate!  Thank you, Lord, for always taking care of me.

I made her this simple Thank You card using the Elegant Thank You by SU and will mail it to her in the morning.

Sweet Sixteen Birthday Presents

HI everyone,

I've been so busy helping my friend with her daughter's birthday party.  It's been amazing!  Today's the big day! The ballroom looks beautiful and we are excited!

Today I made her two little goodies.  The first is my card and the second is a little purse so that my sister can give her a gift card or money.  Both are from Forever Young cartridge.  Hope you like.  I'll share the recipe below:

This is the Think Happy Thoughts set from Stampin Up.
 I used a brad for the center of the flower and liquid pearls to add dimension.
The black circle has stickles on it to make it shiny.

This is the purse on page 64 of Forever Young.
I did it "fit to page" and then scored it on the fold marks.
If you hit shift and Purse you will get the inset.
I had to make it larger for the effect I wanted.  

This is a really cool sticker/jewel from Michael's $1 bin. 

Card base is Basic Gray from Stampin Up.
The first layer is White Georgia Pacific card stock cut at 4 1/8 x 5 3/8.
I used a Martha Stewart corner punch to make it round.
I also put it through the Happy Birthday embossing folder on my Cuttlebug.
I took some pink chalk and gave it a little pink hue
The purse is cut at 3".  The shadow is black recollections paper from JoAnn's.
The pink is Melon Mambo from Stampin Up. I used swiss dots embossing folder from the cuttlebug.
The damask paper is from the JoAnn's paper area.
I used a flower from Daisy Doodles and used liquid pearls "Platinum" for the center.  

Simple Valentine's Day card

I decided to keep making Valentine's Day cards. They have really helped reduce my stress level.  I used the Sweethearts cartridge and cut the images at 3 1/2".  I embossed it with the floral cuttlebug folder and used gel pens to trace the image and add a little stitching to to one of the hearts.  It was cute.
