Sweet Sixteen Birthday Presents

HI everyone,

I've been so busy helping my friend with her daughter's birthday party.  It's been amazing!  Today's the big day! The ballroom looks beautiful and we are excited!

Today I made her two little goodies.  The first is my card and the second is a little purse so that my sister can give her a gift card or money.  Both are from Forever Young cartridge.  Hope you like.  I'll share the recipe below:

This is the Think Happy Thoughts set from Stampin Up.
I used a brad for the center of the flower and liquid pearls to add dimension.
The black circle has stickles on it to make it shiny.

This is the purse on page 64 of Forever Young.
I did it "fit to page" and then scored it on the fold marks.
If you hit shift and Purse you will get the inset.
I had to make it larger for the effect I wanted.

This is a really cool sticker/jewel from Michael's $1 bin.

Card base is Basic Gray from Stampin Up.
The first layer is White Georgia Pacific card stock cut at 4 1/8 x 5 3/8.
I used a Martha Stewart corner punch to make it round.
I also put it through the Happy Birthday embossing folder on my Cuttlebug.
I took some pink chalk and gave it a little pink hue
The purse is cut at 3".  The shadow is black recollections paper from JoAnn's.
The pink is Melon Mambo from Stampin Up. I used swiss dots embossing folder from the cuttlebug.
The damask paper is from the JoAnn's paper area.
I used a flower from Daisy Doodles and used liquid pearls "Platinum" for the center.

Baseball Jersey

My friend wants to create shadow boxes for all of the baseball players.  They are true Warriors and are great Christian young men, growing up to transform Society for God's glory.  As a start to the project, I created this little baseball jersey so that it mirrors what the real one looks like. Here's a pic of the real one and a pic of my mini jersey. The little one is cut at 3" from Everyday Paper Dolls.  I used Liquid Pearls and stickles to do the colors.  The FB are from Plantin School Book.  I colored it in with a red gel pen.

Cheer Banquet

Hi friends!

It's been a couple of crazy days around our house.  I was busy last night making some quick invitations for the end of year Cheerleading Banquet.  My niece is a cheerleader.  Our squad is national champs in the FCC.  We are so proud of our girls.  As I explained earlier, our school is closing so we want to send them off with a huge glow-in-the-dark banquet. It's going to be great!!!

I made these invitations using the megaphone on Everyday Paper Dolls.  The scallop is from gypsy wanderings.  I had to play with it some on the gypsy to make sure the megaphone would fit. I used Diamond stickles to accent.  The paper is an awesome glossy paper from a DCWV paper pack.  The background paper is from Hot off the Press.  It's so beautiful.  I buy my regular base at WalMart from Georgia Pacific. It saves me a lot of money!

*I can't get it to rotate. Sorry.
I hope you like my creation.

Baby Shower Goodies

My little friend, Martha, is having a baby next month.  My sister and I are helping her organize her baby shower. I've been busy making invitations and papercrafting.  Last night I learned how to make rosettes using the Martha Stewart score board. Fun!  I got it for my birthday from my BFF.   I thought it wouldn't be a bad idea to make corsages...so I did.  I also made little bibs that say "Thank you for sharing with us" in Spanish.  They are going to go over water bottles.  The baby shower is at a park...so it's gonna be hot hot HOT in Miami next weekend.

For the little rosette, I just put a button.  My plan is to use a crown charm.  But you get the idea.  I used Stampin up  DSP. The ink is chocolate chip.

Photo Holder

I have been dying to make an oversized photo holder . I love to check out Kerry's blog.  She has an amazing talent...she's just awesome.  I can't say enough.  Anyhow, she had some of these photo holders she made and I was dying to try it out. I found 4 on ebay for $2 and I decided to give it a whirl.  The one I created is for a young lady, Grace, who graduates from high school this year.  I thought it would be a nice gift that she can take with her to school.

The stamp is a stampin up sentiment.  I only used the graduation cap. The rest of it says "hats off".  The grace stamp is one I got on ebay.  I used SU paper for the scallop (2") and the circles are 1 3/8" and 1 1/2".  The silver is a paper I picked up at JoAnns.  The black and silver paper is also JoAnns.  I used stickles (diamond) on the hearts to give it a little punch.  You know I love bling.  I can't ever leave anything basic.

I sure hope she likes it.

I also learned how to make rosettes tonight...so I'll post a pic tomorrow.

TTFN!

Blog Candy

Okay two posts in one night.  You can tell I'm procrastinating on my accounting work, huh?  HA!!!  Well, i just had to post this blog candy over at Angelwoods Crafting Corner.  She has an amazing giveaway.

Masquerade - Prom 2011

I have been a parent at Florida Bible Christian School for only four years, but my family has been associated with the school for 20 years.  It's an amazing school.  We love that our children are growing up learning about God and in a Christian environment. The teachers are real, they are loving, they love the Lord.  They are amazing!  Last month, the church announced that they would be closing our school at the end of this school year after 34 years.  It's closing  doors and leaving 557 children without a home school and 100 staffers jobless.  They have leased our property to a charter school.  We are devastated and praying for a miracle!  As we close the doors, we are doing everything we can to support these kids as they close the chapter.

I'm helping with Prom this year.  It's a Masquerade theme.  I decorated some beautiful gold masks with stickles. I also cute some little masks from Designers Calender on the cricut using my gypsy.  I wasn't sure what to use them for, but she mentioned she wanted to make some tags for something, so I made her some samples to choose from.   Here are the photos

Stickles is dark blue...but it looks purple.  I love how these turned out.
The masks are from Anderson Prom.

This is the first one  I made.
My handwriting got better the more I practiced.
I promise!

Designer's Calendar cut at 2". Paper is black mat stack from Wal Mart.
Stickles are turquoise from www.scrapbook.com

font for Masquerade is Cinderella.  The FBCS line is Engravers MT.
The shading on the punch is Stampin Up chalk.
The punch is EK Success.
The mask has a stem which I cut off.

You're Just My Style!

My friend Arlene recently gave me a huge bag full of new clothes.  They are amazing!  Her daughter has lost some weight and she had tons of stuff in her closet - STILL UNWORN!  Wow.  I definitely have to thank them both.  I made this card using the Haute Couture stamp set by Stampin Up. I have had it for a while and hadn't used it.  Cool!

The base is Crumb Cake by Stampin Up.
First layer is DCWV from a stack, but I don't know the name.
I used a Martha Stewart loop edge punch.
Paper is also Stampin Up (not sure of the color).
The square is chocolate chip, teal and whisper white by SU.  The squares are 2", 1 7/8", 1 3/4" and 1 1/2"

I used Versa Mark with clear embossing powder.

Okay...this is a PaperTrey Ink stamp.  My first time using this one.  It's on the Damask designs set.
The jury is still out on PTI.

Another Thank You

Our friends recently invited our little ones overnight for some fun..so that we could recharge and get some much-needed rest.  I wanted to say thank you, so I made a little card with my new papertrey ink stamps.  I'm not 100% if I like them or not.  The jury is still out.  :)
