Little Lamb Thank You

My daughter, Cassie, helped me make this card. She is six years old and a lady at our church gave her a little lamb plush doll.  She loved it and I like it when they properly say Thank You when they receive a gift.  So...together with our gypsy, we created this little lamb card in honor of "Leann Sparkles", Cassie's new lamb.  :)  I used the Create a Critter cartridge for the lamb.

Check out the bling on the flower.  Circle punch is Stampin Up 1 3/8" in Melon Mambo
(yes I favor that color)
Ink is Melon Mambo and sentiment is SU Riveting Hostess Set

Lamb is cut at 3.75".  Cassie embossed the wool with the Cuttlebug swirls embossing folder.  She got a kick out of that.

Card is standard A2 size.  It is super cute.  I love how it turned out!

Versatile Blogger Award

Wow. I'm so honored to have received this award from Kim.  We were connected via Momo's great post where bloggers with less than 200 followers could share each other's blogs.  It really was brilliant and generous of her.  Thank you Kim!!! The rules for receiving this award are:
  1. Thank the person who sent it to you
  2. Tell Us 7 things about yourself
  3. Send/Reward this to 15 bloggers
7 Things about myself:

  1. I was a vocal performance major in college, but I have stage fright...so I haven't sang in public in ten years.
  2. I am in love with Jon Bon Jovi and Chayanne.
  3. I met my husband on match.com.  Try it...it works!!  I am spoiled rotten.
  4. I live in South Florida but would rather be living in the South somewhere.
  5. I know just about every song and lyrics.  My husband's favorite game is Name That Tune. He loves to TRY to stump me...no can do.  (Unless it's classic rock...not too good at that).
  6. My kids are eleven months apart.  Yes, 11 months...no, not on purpose. Actually, my husband was supposedly not able to have kids when we got married.  Surprise!!!!
  7. I am a Christian and I believe that your faith can really carry you in times of struggle.
**I know...I still have to put the 15 blogs, but I promise to do it this afternoon!!!

Sweet Sixteen Updated

Leave it to me to redo a design on a card.  Okay, so I'm a little nutty sometimes.  I took the original card which was cute, but plain, and I added some great stuff.  First, I used my computer for the sentiment and changed the words so that they would be more "sweet" or "candy" oriented...since that's the theme of the party.   I also used damask ribbon, since Judy is using damask together with a combination of hot and soft pink.  I also used the floral cuttlebug embossing folder (it kind of looks like a damask pattern, I think) for the light pink part. I ran the melon mambo through the polka dots embossing folder.  The mason jar - well, I drew that and scanned it on the computer.  I used Michael's brand foam dots to mount it.  The candy in the candy jar is interesting.  We thought it was too hard to do all the jars with the glass hearts, so Judy and Allison made individual tiny candies by rolling split peas in the pink tissue.  Voila!  Instand candy.  I hope you enjoy.

Disney Pixar Blog Hop

Anyone who knows me knows my family and I are totally Disney fanatics!  We are annual passholders and we try to visit the parks as often as we can.  It's easy being only 200 miles away from the Happiest Place on Earth.  As I blog hopped today, I happened across the Disney Pixar Blog Hop.  So, of course...I'm hopping right along.  Please visit Melissa at Disney Dreamer Designs.  She has got an AMAZING giveaway.  :)

Blog Hopping

I'm spending this Saturday morning blog hopping.  I do love to see what others create. I get all sorts of ideas.  Now if I could just lasso some time to create...it would be great.  (How about that? It rhymes!!!)

Well, I stumbled across a great giveaway.  Check it out CricutLvr

Gracias

Hi again!  Look at that. Two card posts in one day.  I made this card for my best friend's dad who made me some "cremitas"...basically a dulce de leche treat.  I couldn't believe he remembered how much I love (and don't need to eat) these super sweet treats.  Yummmmmm.  I wanted to say thank you so I made him this cute card.  The bicycle patterned paper is Colorbok from the Woodhaven pack.  Adorable for a male. The circle is stampin up...baja breeze cut with a 2.5" circle punch.  Very pretty color.  The first layer is crumb cake and the base is a generic card stock from JoAnns (Reflections) brand.  I added stickles to give it something extra.  The sentiment is Stampin Up Felicitaciones Siempre and the ink is chocolate chip.  I can't wait to mail it tomorrow!!!

Happy Birthday Card

Yesterday I made a super quick birthday card for our Pastor.  I used kraft paper as the base and Stampin Up paper for the rest, of course.  The sentiment is from the Michael's $1 bin and the ink is Brocade Blue from SU.  I cut the balloons from the Simply Charmed cartridge (which I didn't realize I had...wow) using my gypsy.  They are cut at 3.5". I cut the strings off and taped hemp cord to the back to add a little flair.  The top note is SU.  I actually don't have the top note cutting die, but bought a lot on ebay and use that instead.
Hope you like!

Candy Shoppe

Good morning everyone!  Well, my friend's daughter turns 16 very soon and she's having a party.  Although I don't really usually need an excuse to make cards, I DID volunteer to help her with hers.  I used stuff I had at home.  I have been inspired by a wonderful lady named Dawn McVey.  She has a great blog, Raspberry Suite.  I think she either represents Papertrey Ink or just loves their products.  She is amazing!!!!  Anyhow, she made a cute card using the PTI Friendship Jar stamp set which I used as my inspiration.  I did not have that set and was not able to buy it, so I drew my own mason jar and scanned it.  Voila!  Instant mason jar!  Not bad, I think.   The hearts were purchased on ebay about a year ago.  I had intended on using them to spread on a table at a wedding, but they are very small and that idea got chucked.  They came in handy for my candy jar.  Allison's party theme is "SWEET sixteen" so we went with the sweet.  I love that family.  They are very special.

Okay...here is Dawn's card: (It's so amazing!)

This is what I came up with: (very cute, I think).  I think for the real run I will make the jar smaller and will run the light pink through the cuttlebug with either the polka dot or swiss dot folder.  I should probably do something to the neck of the jar, huh?

Recipe:
A2 Card size.  Base is Georgia Pacific regular white card stock
Black is Reflections basic black
Layer 1 is Melon Mambo (LOVE THIS COLOR) from Stampin Up
Layer 2 is Pretty in Pink by Stampin Up
Punch (which needs to be perfected - haha) is Fiskers
5/8" grossgrain black ribbon is from BB Crafts.  Let me tell you...they have GREAT prices on 50 yd ribbon rolls.   Did I say GREAT?  Good. Just making sure.
Sentiment is Stampin Up.  Sincere Salutations

Birthday Cards

I know I haven't had much time to craft lately.  Today I spent all day organizing my paper stash and looking at Christina's blog for inspiration.  Check her out Here.  Her craftroom changes all the time.  I think it's amazing!

Well, this post is for two birthday cards I made for two young friends. They are two special girls.  I used my gypsy and my Simply Charmed cartridge for the gift. It's cut at 4.75".  The paper is a DCWV scrap. The base and dark pink is Stampin Up (Pink Pirouette and Melon Mambo).  Ink is also Melon Mambo.

The second card is a stamped card...which I'm still new to.  I used Happy Moments Stamps Set from Stampin Up.  Abby turns 7, so I colored it with the Stampin Up Markers and used only 7 candles.  The flowers have Stickled centers and I used crystal gel for the flames and the plate.  The circle is 2.5" and the scallop is 3".  The solid paper is all stampin up from the brights set and the patterned paper is DCWV.  The ribbon is Making Memories which I won from my friend Liz at My WhichCraft.  I used a ticket corner punch to change it up a little bit.  I hope she likes it.  :)
I love the Crystal Gel effect.  It makes the flames look real and the plate look like porcelain.

Young at Art

My friend asked me for help making invitations for her daughter's birthday party being held at a children's art museum.  She found the Beechwood Palettes online and ordered a few as well as regular craft brushes.  I used Reflections glittery paper for the paint and my 2 1/2" circle punch.  The invitation details are with my 2" punch. I printed the party details on my computer and cut it to fit the piece.   I hot glued the brush to the palette to add interest . It is so cute!
EDIT NOTE:  When I created this, I didn't look at a calendar.  I did not realize the 13th was a SUNDAY...took some quick thinking to get them fixed, but the crisis was averted.

So Nice

It is tax season!!!  I work for my sister in her accounting office, so this time of year is tough on us.  I haven't had very much time to post.  I made this card as a little Thank You to my BFF for a birthday present.  She's an incredible person and like a sister to me.
The sentiment is from a Stampin Up set and the ink is Melon Mambo.
The base is Melon Mambo, which I love from Stampin Up.
The ribbon is from BB Crafts.com.  They have great deals!
To add sparkle, I used my Martha Stewart Glitter pens.
