Alayna's Birthday Cards

Like I mentioned in my earlier post, Alayna turns one this month.  I made three cards for her from the Miami Mafia (which is what we lovingly refer to the Cuban clan in South Florida).  She's having a tie-dye party, so the themes are very colorful and glittery.  Hope you like.  I feel kind of guilty that I didn't put too much effort into the cards.  I used paper scraps and used cuts that I had in my die cut drawer.  I've been so busy these last few days, I just hadn't had a chance to sit and make her cards, but the clock is ticking and the Fedex needs to go out tomorrow or the next day...so I had to crack the whip!

Sweet Treats

This is a cute cupcake card for an upcoming birthday.  The cupcake is cut at 3" from Sweet Treats.  The card base is ivory cardstock and the patterned paper is from DCWV Sweets mat pack.  I used pink stickles to add some interest around the edge.  Diamond stickles made the frosting more fun.  The sentiment is PaperTrey Ink Little Labels and I used Chocolate Chip ink from SU.  It looks nicer in person than in the photo.  (Don't you hate when that happens?)

Have a great day!

Cards for Princess Leah and Madison

My friend, Debbie has a special niece.  Her name is Leah, named after her aunt Debbie (Leah) and after Princess Leia from Star Wars.  Leah is very sick.  She's only 5 months old and has spent most of her life at UCLA Medical Center.  A few weeks ago, our friends asked for us to make cards for their families.  OF course...count me in.  This is what I came up with.

I used Sweet Treats for the watermelon and MPS for the sentiment.  The gingham paper is Stampin Up and the first layer is certainly celery.  The base is Kraft paper and the ink is  Melon Mambo also by SU.  I also used Melon Mambo cardstock on the watermelon.

If you'd like to read Leah's story, you can visit her blog at The Princess Leah Diaries.  It's truly heartwrenching.
