Create a Cupcake

Hi friends,

I recently attended Stamp Camp which was fun.  I ordered the Create a Cupcake or Cupcake Builder set with the coordinating punch.  I made this card using Calypso Coral, Chocolate Chip card stock and ink in calypso coral by SU and white by PTI.  The cupcakes are Melon Mambo, Lucky Limeaid inks together with Chocolate Chip stamped on white card stock.

Die Cuttin Divas Challenge #75: Summer Fun

Hi friends,

You know I rarely enter challenges, but I thought I'd give this one a try.  Die Cuttin Divas are having Challenge #75 and it's perfect timing!!  My sister is visiting from Tennessee and it's her birthday.  I decided to use the card I made for the challenge for her birthday.  I used Life is a Beach.  The bucket is very cute.  I will admit I had a little bit of a hard time making this shaped card...but it came out cute.  I stamped the inside with MPS spanish sayings "Que Disfrutes" which means "Enjoy".  My sis is a beach lover and they are staying at a lovely hotel right on the beach.  I thought it was fitting.

The bucket was cut at 4.5".  I  used heat embossing for the glaze on the sand and bucket.  I also used Liquid Applique on the end of the shovel. I  was going for a sandy look, but had never used the product before, so I had no idea how it would turn out.  It kinda looks like snow.  Still cute.

Enjoy!

My Sister's 50th Celebration

Good morning!

Well, I have been super busy lately working on a few parties we have coming up.  One of them is for my sister, Damaris, who is the eldest.  She turns 50 this year.  She still looks like she did when we were kids.  I remember when 50 seemed so old.  I guess now that I'm 40, it's not so old, huh?  (Kinda like tall people don't seem so tall when you start growing yourself).

Well, Damaris and her husband, Joel, live in Tennessee and I don't see them as often as I'd like.  She is visiting for a couple of weeks and enjoying her favorite past time...the beach...and taking some much needed time off.  Her celebration is on Sunday.  We have lots of pretty things planned, but for now I'll share this sneak peek of a small banner that I made for the entrance.  It really came out pretty.

I used Elegant Eggplant from SU for the base.  The patterned paper is from Big Lots...I don't have the manufacturer.  It's double sided, so I opted to vary the colors.  The embossing folder is Textiles.  The letters are on glittery paper and the scallop looks mirrored.  I'll take better pictures at the party.

Have a great day!

Dilo en Español-Bella

Hi everyone,

It's no secret that I love it when I happen upon a blog hop, particularly if there's a prize involved. Recently I've been on a winning streak.  My most recent win is from Dilo en Español where they hold challenges and most of the designers are bilingual.  Their newest release is beautiful and I WON!!  So, of course, I HAD to make a card with my beautiful Bella.  I hope you like her as much as I did.  She is gorgeous and they did a fab job in creating her. You can purchase Dilo en Español stamps at their SAY IT IN SPANISH STORE

I used Crystal Gel to make the eyes, lips and flowers glossy.  SO pretty.

I have very few Copics, so I only was able to use them on her hair

Used Stampin Up pencils on this one and also chalked around the squares, just to make it different.

Angry Birds Cupcake Toppers

I know you're probably tired of the Angry Birds theme, but I wanted to show you the mini cupcake toppers.  My friend, Norma, was kind enough to make them for me.  Please show her some love HERE  Did I mention she made these completely out of PUNCHES????????  AWESOME!!!!

I was going to use these for Candy Toppers, but I had such awesome goodie bags, that I just used them as cupcake toppers.

Party Centerpieces - Angry Birds & Tinkerbell

The party was a huge hit. Kids had a great time!

Here are the centerpieces that we came up with.  You know we just can't do things the simple way...gotta come up with something spectacular.  I think we totally nailed it!  My BFF Marisol is amazing.  So blessed that she is in my life.  My sister did a beautiful job with the goodie bags...they were backpacks.  Kids loved everything.

My friend, Liz, cut the Angry Birds for us on her Silhouette.  Liz does some amazing work.  Check out her blog Which Craft

Where Has the Time Gone?

Good morning,

As some of you know, my children are 11 1/2 months apart.  Currently they are BOTH seven years old.  My son turned 7 on July 1st and my daughter turns 8 on July 15th.  We are celebrating their birthdays together again this year.   That's how they wanted it.  Bringing together a birthday party like this was easy when they were little.  We would use themes like Dora and Diego, Cars (Sally/McQueen), JoJo's Circus and Little Einsteins, but as they have grown up their tastes have gone in different directions.

Bryan is having an Angry Birds theme.  Cassie chose Tinkerbell & Friends as hers.  I won't post all of the goodies until after their party tomorrow, but I did want to share the cuts for her centerpiece and an altered ribbon/rosette that I made for him.

First off, the Tinkerbell cuts were not easy.  I struggled.  A LOT.  They are 5" for the ones standing and 3.5" for the ones sitting.  Here are some pictures.  You know I love Stickles, so I used glitter to embellish as well as my Stampin Up chalks to add a little dimension to their bodies.

The Fairies are going in a GORGEOUS centerpiece.  I'll show you that tomorrow.

Next, my sister (who has gone all out and purchased all of the items for their goodie bookbags) couldn't find an Angry Birds Rosette/Ribbon for him to wear so she bought Diego for me to alter.  Originally I used Modge Podge, which worked great.  Then I had the not-so-brilliant idea of using Crystal Effects but I used too much.  When I removed it, I ruined it, so I had to start again with plain tacky tape and adhesive.  I think he looks cute.  My friend and SU demonstrator, Norma, made these Angry Birds out of punches.  She's amazing.  You can check out her website HERE

This is what I began with
*Crystal Effects haven't dried yet, but I wanted to take the picture.

So to answer my question of Where Has the Time Gone?  It's turned into two amazing kids.  Happy Birthday Cassie & Bryan!!!

Me & My BIG Bright Ideas

Hi friends,

Yesterday I was feeling a bit overwhelmed.  I have a lot to do and although I'm off until Monday, it seems I don't have the time to finish everything.  I decided to make myself a mini composition book.  I know many people have made these, but I wanted to make one to jot down things I needed to do.  I pulled out my Take Note stamp set from Papertrey Ink and found some cute paper from We R Memory Keepers>  I used Stampin Up Melon Mambo for the sentiment and Lucky Limeade for the dotted circle around it.  I used glittery green paper to make it sparkly.  I also used Stampin Up brads that my friend, Norma, sent me.  I hope you like it.  I think it came out pretty cute!

More baby cards

Hi everyone!  What a crazy weekend.  My little one turned seven on Saturday and he had his whole day planned out:  breakfast in bed, water park, dinner at Scruby's BBQ.  We had a blast! Now for two weeks, I have TWO seven-year-olds at home.  My daughter turns eight on the 15th.  They are exactly 11 1/2 months apart.  My house is never dull.

Today I had to make a quick card for a baby shower.  I used PTI for the cardstock, Stampin up for the onesie image and PTI for the sentiment.  I used crystal gel for the buttons on the onesie also.  It was a quick little thing, so I'm not even sure if I did a good job or not...but I like it.  My buttons might be an epic fail, but I didn't want to just put one button...did I overdo it?
