Butterfly Mask Invite

Hi friends,

I'm about to embark on my trip and wanted to post a picture of a butterfly card I am making for a young quinceanera.  In the Hispanic culture, we don't celebrate Sweet Sixteen but rather do a big Fifteens party which is the right of passage from childhood to womanhood, if you will.

I was asked to come up with a neat invitation for a Masquerade themed party for a quinceanera and I came up with this.  It's a gate fold card.  It's 5 x 5...I'll probably adjust the size some and also make the design nicer...I just have to tweak it. I wanted to show it to the mom to see if I was on the right track.  I had to manually cut out holes in the butterfly to make it look like a mask...when I make the final ones, it won't look like this.  I'll keep the background layer solid so that it actually looks like a mask instead of a butterfly with holes.  :)

Christmas Tags/Ghirardelli Squares holder

Good morning friends!

December has really proven to be a busy month for me.  Wow!  Well, I always like to make different embellishments for my gifts, so this year I bought these cute Ghirardelli chocolate squares in Peppermint Bark flavor.  I decided to make little holders and turn the holders into my gift tag.

Paper is cut at 3" x 8"
Score at 3 7/8" and 4 1/8"

I then punched the top out with a Martha Stewart edge punch and added a 2 3/4" x 2 3/4" piece of designer paper.  This one is from DCWV Christmas stack from last year.  I added a cute ribbon and wrote the recipient's name on top with a pen.  For the others, I used a glitter pen.

The snowflake is from Gypsy Wanderings cut at 1.5" on glittered paper and glued onto a 2" circle punch that was run through the cuttlebug in the snowflake embossing folder.

I love how these look on the presents!

Also...I just purchased a light box.  I really need to iron that backdrops so that there are no creases.  Sorry...it was my first time!

Lizzie Turns 12!

Good morning friends,

My niece and Goddaughtter, Elizabeth, is turning 12 on Sunday.  TWELVE!  Where has the time gone?  She is a beautiful, kind-hearted, sweet-spirited young woman.  She truly is beautiful both inside and out.

She is not having a birthday party this year. Instead, my sister and brother-in-law asked her where she wanted to go and she chose EPCOT. So, they're off to Orlando today.   (This is where I pout for a second because it is, after all, the Happiest Place on Earth!...okay. I'm over it).   So, I bought her a Disney gift card and made her a very simple card.  Almost too simple.

I used Stampin Up Designer Paper and the butterflies are cut at 1.5" from Gypsy Wanderings.  Of course, I had to use Stickles in Lavender.  The sentiment is from PaperTrey Ink and the ink is really poor quality ink from Scrappy Cat. I bought it for very little...it was probably dried out.  I am sure she's going to have a great time at EPCOT and will remember this birthday for years to come.

Gypsy Wanderings Card

Hi everyone!  I hope you're enjoying your Saturday.  I made this card on Thursday for my sister's birthday.  She really doesn't care for the A2 sized cards, so I had to come up with another size.  Basically, I used 8 1/2 x 8 1/2 sheet of  Crumb Cake cardstock for this.  The patterned paper is from Joann's. The pink paper is Stampin Up and the brown is soft suede Stampin Up.  I cut the cupcake at 3.5" and the candle as well.  I had to hide some of the candle under the cupcake because it was too big.

I wanted to personalize it, so I made a frame also on Gypsy Wanderings and played with it a bit to make the size work out.  I printed Happy Birthday Debbie on the computer so that it would be just for her!  I like it.  There's a gift card in there for one of her favorite restaurants.

For the purse, I used a tutorial that I found on Kerry's Paper Crafts.  IT's by a wonderful and talented lady named Becky Roberts. You can see the original post HERE.  She has great tutorials for sale.  This purse was super easy to make.  The tag that I added after the original picture was made by using a Martha Stewart stamp set that makes monograms.  It's a great set!  I used Chocolate Chip ink by SU and lots of stickles, like usual. I put a purse hanger and a keychain in it.  I hope Deb likes them both.  She is a special person in my life.
