Cupcake Shape Card

Hi friends!

Well, I've been having some crafter's block lately...probably because most of my attention is based on my real job in an accounting office.  This time of year is very trying on us.

I went to our favorite cake shop and ordered some yummy guava and cream cheese cupcakes.  For those of us who are Cuban, this is a staple fruit in our heritage.  We love guava and always pair it with cream cheese.  Well, this baker makes delicious cupcakes.

I decided I wanted to share some with some friends who I am very fond of.  I made a card to go along.  I really wanted to put a sentiment on it, but I was in a rush.

Paper is all Stampin Up...except for card base which is white PTI.  I cut the cupcake from Create a Critter and used my gypsy to weld it together.  It's cut at 4". I hid the face on the layer and then ran it through the embossing folder.  I had to add some stickles...you know me.  I also added some chalk in pink to give it some dimension.   I used the Martha Stewart score board and made some marks on the wrapper so that it would look more real.  It came out cute.  I hope you can see it.  I actually made two of these...one has a blue ribbon.

Have a great weekend.

  2. I LOVE shaped cards! Great job with this one! Guava and cream cheese? While I probably would have wondered about that combo before, that sounds AMAZING this morning to this pregnant lady!!! YUMMY! I'll have to see where I can get one!

Thanks for stopping by my blog! You're probably right that Gator fans would like my card, but I went to Pepperdine so we share colors! ;) Peter (who the card is for) went to Harvard so it's not even close to his school colors. But it's funny how after you go to a school where orange and blue somehow magically had to "match" that you think they match all the time! haha. Have a great day and I hope you participate in our challenge and link it up for a chance to win April's kit!
